Magazine: Beef producers get special attention
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, 12 percent more cows were slaughtered last year than in 2014. Between 2010 and 2015 Hungary’s cattle stock expanded by 20 percent (139,000 cows). Last December farmers kept 821,000 cows, from which 117,000 were bred for meat purposes (between 2010 and 2015 their number expanded by 70 percent, 48,000).
