Magazine: Dedication and technology
After the major development works of recent years Csányi Winery has become a modern winemaking facility, where state-of-the-art technology goes hand in hand with the traditions of winemaking. Csányi Winery makes 2 million bottles of wine a year. They use a high-level quality assurance system, they have one of the country’s best oenology laboratories and they have adopted the SAP business management system. The quality assurance system guarantees that even after 10 years it can be traced back what kind of work was done by who with a certain bottle of wine. Cleanliness, precision, expertise and reliability provide the foundation of success. Chateau Teleki Winery, the predecessor of Csányi Winery was established by Zsigmond Teleki in the Villány region in 1881. Villány is Hungary’s southernmost wine region which has the best conditions for winemaking. Annual rainfall nears 700mm and the number of sunny hours is 2,100 per year, while the average temperature in the vegetation period is 17.5°C. Geothermal heat keeps grapevine roots warm from below. The result of these features is excellent, tasty and characteristic grapes, from which great wines can be made.
