Magazine: Private life is getting more important for Hungarians too
Human resources specialist Kelly Services has published their KGWI survey recently. A ccording to this, 70 percent of respondents consider work-life balance to be a factor that would decide which job they should take from two positions offered to them. Back in 2012 only 31 percent of respondents gave the same answer to this question. The survey was conducted with the participation of 4,000 Hungarian workers as part of a global study. It is noteworthy that 37 percent of Hungarian employees would be content with a lower salary if their working time was more flexible; 33 percent would like to work less.
Anikó Jónás, managing director of Kelly Services Hungary Kft. told that the attitude of workers is changing dramatically in Hungary – higher salaries and more challenging tasks used to motivate them in the past, but today they value a work-life balance and self-fulfilment more. Hungarian workers attach great value to days off: 27 percent reckon that employers should urge employees to use the days off they are entitled to and 33 percent would be happy if they could ‘buy’ further free days.
Ms Jónás added that nowadays people expect more from their work and work environment than ever before. 20 percent of Hungarian workers say they have stronger ties with the members of their personal and business networks than with their current employer. In an age when employee loyalty doesn’t come naturally, only those companies are able to keep their best workers where a ‘healthy’ workplace culture is an integral part of the brand.
