Magazine: Boscolo’s idea seems to fail for the second time in Hungary
The first cone-shaped pizzas were introduced in Italy in 2004 under the name Konopizza. Not much later an attempt was made in Hungary to launch the product, but the entrepreneur couldn’t even open its first unit. Then in 2011 a new team opened a shop in Mammut I shopping centre in Budapest, followed by further Konopizza shops Szolnok and Cegléd. The Budapest unit closed early 2012 and a couple of months later the Szolnok one also called it a day. Now the network’s Hungarian master partner decided to sell the franchise rights. Luxury hotel owner Rossano Boscolo’s idea seems to fail in Hungary once again. Why doesn’t the concept work in Hungary? We can think of three reasons.
