Magazine: Macro trends in wine sales
Bag-in-box and 20-litre stainless steel kegs are popular, especially in the USA, and many wineries are already putting premium and super-premium wines in these. Champagne and sparkling wine sales are growing. Wines are mixed with juices, spirits and even with wheat beer. Flavoured wines also appear in stores, e.g. chocolate, coffee, etc. Consumers are looking for wines from regions they don’t know yet. Restaurants’ wine lists are becoming shorter. Wine lists go digital in many bars and restaurants.
