Magazine: Wine-beer hybrid
As part of the 21st-century ‘beer revolution’ artisan breweries have started using special ingredients. US brewery Dogfish Head’s latest innovation is Noble Rot, a wine-beer hybrid with 49.5 percent of its fermentable sugar content coming from botrytised grapes and 50.5 percent originating from grain. Noble Rot is fermented with a Belgian yeast strain, it has 9-percent alcohol content and a 0.75l bottle costs 13 dollars.
