President László Kovács had represented MVI at the inter-trade conciliation talks and he also told his opinion to our magazine. According to him, the knowledge level of cooks who leave school is very low. It is the Chamber that is responsible for education and the question is whether they have the right kind of people for that task. Currently the practice is that students often use their connections to find a place where they can do the practical courses, and this means that they only see one segment of the trade throughout the years. There is no rotation, students stay at the same place and get the same degree, no matter whether they learned the trade in a school cafeteria or in fine dining restaurant.
