Magazin: What is on focus?
Borháló (Wine Network) is a franchise system, established with the goal of distributing high quality Hungarian bulk wine in Hungary and abroad. Currently there are already 11 standard-looking stores in and around Budapest and 2 in the country, selling excellent bulk wine at a good price. Márton Elek, head of strategic operations and marketing at Borháló told our magazine that their typical franchise partner has some kind of Horeca background. Borháló has established a long-term cooperation with many winemakers and some of them bottle their wines tailored to the needs of the network, using magnum bottle, bag-in-box or even PET bottle – in the latter Borháló customers find those wines that would otherwise cost HUF 1,500 in glass bottles, Bar and restaurant owners can also order from Borháló and since many of them have already had bad experiences with the wines they had used as ‘wine of the house’.
