Magazine: Quality is the secret behind Panyolai’s success
Our magazine asked Gergely Lakatos, the CEO of Panyolai Szilvórium Zrt. about the successful last decade of the dynamically developing spirit manufacturer. He told that the company was established in 2002, its market share is around 5 percent and in 2015 it sold 250,000 bottles of pálinka. Panyolai’s average sales growth is a stunning 15 percent a year. The No.1 priority is product quality: Panyolai makes artisan spirits using traditional technology only. Mr Lakatos believes that this focus on quality is the key to Panyolai’s success.
Three years ago 90 percent of Panyolai product sales were realised in the Horeca channel, but by now 30 percent of their spirits are sold in retail. The company comes out with something new every year – be it a new flavour, packaging or promotional tool. In making pálinka Panyolai sees great potential in Irsai Olivér grapes – three new products will be launched this autumn and one of them will be made from this grape variety.
