MADOSZ: better-than-average tobacco crop is expected this year
A better-than-average tobacco crop is expected this year. Its quality will be similar to the quality of the previous years’ crop – Bényei Illés the President of the Hungarian Tobacco Growers' Association (Madosz) told MTI on Monday.
Bényei Illés added that the tobacco plantations – of which 80 percent can be found in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County – show a very mixed picture in mid-August: in some rain deficient areas lower yields are expected, while at the artificially irrigated areas good yields are expected. (MTI)
