Bird flu was detected at a turkey farm in Békés county
The National Food Chain Safety Office (NÉBIH) detected bird flu in a turkey farm near Tótkomlós in Békés county. The authority took the necessary measures – the Ministry of Agriculture informed MTI.
The Ministry of Agriculture indicated that human disease has never occurred in the context of the detected (H5N8) serotype.
To prevent the spreading of the virus 9000 turkeys, the total stock of the farm in Tótkomlós will be killed by the specialists of veterinary services, while the farm will receive state compensation. (MTI)
