Nébih has lifted the bird flu restrictions in a larger, contiguous Great Plain area. The size of the restricted area has been significantly reduced in Békés, Csongrád-Csanád and Bács-Kiskun counties, while Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok counties will be exempted from the restrictive measures following the lifting. The threat of bird flu still exists, compliance with disease control measures is of utmost importance.

Following the lifting, Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok counties will be exempted from the restrictive measures, while the size of the restricted area has been significantly reduced in Békés, Csongrád-Csanád and Bács-Kiskun counties. The authority has not detected another outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza in the now lifted area since February 5. Based on the positive results and the completion of other official measures (such as disinfection works), the restricted areas were lifted. Nébih draws the attention of animal keepers that the avian influenza virus is still present in the country, so compliance with disease control measures is of utmost importance, as the risk of poultry flocks becoming infected from wild birds remains high.
