The demand for pet products on foodora has doubled in the past year. Most people order food for their cats with delivery within half an hour, but various flea products are also popular among pet products, foodora revealed in its compilation prepared for the Responsible Pet Ownership Day.

Interest in the fast delivery of pet food and pet equipment is constantly growing. The number of such orders doubled between 2023 and 2025 on foodora, where a wide range of products for pets, including food, toys and other accessories, can be ordered to your home. International data also revealed that in addition to the usual pet food, more and more people are adding other supplies necessary for pet care, such as flea products, dog waste bags or cat litter, to their baskets.

Between 2023 and 2025, the growth in demand for products for small pets was over 25 percent in both years. This also means that in 2023, products for pets accounted for only 3 percent of the content of virtual baskets, while by February 2025 this had already risen to 4.5 percent.

Cat owners are ordering more

More than 85 percent of sales among cat owners were for various pet foods, of which canned pet food was the most popular. The second most popular was aerosol flea control, followed by dog waste bags.

The data also shows that foodora users buy mostly for cats, as products specifically intended for cats, such as canned food and litter, accounted for nearly 60 percent of orders. Among the foods sold, salmon products are the most popular.

“We are also noticing in the Hungarian market that our customers are increasingly bolder in ordering other things than hot food on foodora. Although the majority of our orders are still covered by the delivery of hot food and fresh food, we are also experiencing continuous growth in the case of various household items, cosmetics and products for small pets. This growth trend shows that our users no longer only think of foodora when there is an emergency, for example, the cat food or washing powder has run out at eight in the evening, but are increasingly bolder and more consciously using our company’s fast-food retail leg in the most diverse life situations. According to the data, after cats, rabbits are the most popular pets among foodora users, with Tatabánya and Miskolc leading the way in the countryside, while in Budapest, the XIII., IV. and VI. districts are the most committed pet-owning foodora users”

– added Péter Garay, the managing director of foodora.
