Horse Meat Scandal: the number of positive samples significantly reduced in the EU
In contrast to the study conducted last year, the results of this April’s research showed that the proportion of products containing horse meat significantly reduced in the EU market – the European Commission announced on Thursday.
According to the communication of the European Commission, the experts analyzed a total 2622 samples. Only 16 cases were found where the beef contained questionable origin horse meat. This is 0.61 percent of the samples, while in 2013 4.6 percent of the products contained mixed horse meat. (MTI)
