Logistics Association: 2022 was a record year in the industrial and logistics real estate market
The Hungarian industrial and logistics real estate market closed a record year in 2022 based on the volume of rentals, new developments and investments in the countryside – the Association of Logistics Service Centers of Hungary (MLSZKSZ) announced in a statement sent to MTI on Thursday.
According to their information, last year, 482,000 square meters of new industrial and logistics real estate developed for rent were handed over in the country, 30 percent of which were in rural areas. The total stock of industrial and logistics real estate in Hungary developed for rental since 2005 already exceeds 4.5 million square meters, of which 1.4 million are located in rural areas.
The announcement quoted Millá Kalmár, senior consultant of the international real estate consulting company 108 Agency Kft., who said that the growth was primarily influenced by international trends. In order to ensure smooth production and customer service, companies store 20-30 percent more goods locally than before the pandemic, which requires significantly more warehouse space, he said.
