Founded in 2009 in Krasnoyarsk, Siberia, the Torgservis has a total of 800 discount stores in Russia, China and Romania, with a turnover of 1.3 billion euros reached last year. 70 percent of the relatively limited range of shops is food offer and it is genuinely cheap in German terms. The chain does not accidentally target the eastern part of Germany, where the purchasing power of the population is relatively smaller than in the western provinces.
