Lidl opens first US stores
In the middle of June Lidl started conquering the US market with 10 stores. A major promotion campaign preceded the launch and the first 100 shoppers got a USD 100 gift card in every store. Until next summer Lidl wants to have 100 stores in the US, while the plan is to operate 500 more in five years’ time.
