Lidl Magyarország
Lidl has nearly 170 discount supermarkets in Hungary and employs more than 5,000 people. More than 60 percent of the products Lidl Hungary stores sell are from Hungarian suppliers. In 2016 a programme series called the Lidl Supplier Academy was established for a better partnership with suppliers. In various parts of the country potential new suppliers can listen to presentations and learn about how to meet the high supplier standards of the chain.
Lidl Hungary sold nearly 15 million bottles of wine (7 million bottles went to export) last year and organised the Lidl Wine Expo Hungary, where 366 wines of 21 wine regions were present for international Lidl purchasing managers to choose from – told Lidl Hungary’s head of company communication Judit Tőzsér. As of 1 March 2018 salaries of store and warehouse workers increased by 20 percent at Lidl Hungary. It is important for Lidl to reduce the chain’s ecological footprint. //
