Lidl: Rescue bags for imperfect fruit and vegetables
Discounter Lidl has introduced a “rescue bag” for less than perfect fruit and vegetables in an attempt to prevent food waste.
The 5kg rescue bag contains various types of fruit and vegetables, including items with damaged packaging or products that need to be sorted. Rescue bags are available for 3 euros. About 11 million tonnes of food end up in the bin in Germany every year.
