Foie Gras Festival again
The 5th Foie Gras Festival will raise the awareness of its visitors on the differences between geese and ducks liver – the organizers informed MTI.
The National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) found that in nine out of ten butcher shops in Budapest duck liver fis marketed under the name of foie gras.
80 percent of the world’s foie gras is produced in Hungary. The annual export is 1800 tons. The 5th Foie Gras Festival will be held on 6-8 September at the Erzsébet Square in Budapest. The event aims to promote domestic consumption of foie gras – the organizers informs. (MTI)
