The development of the National Laboratory of Agricultural Technology in cooperation with the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) and the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE) has been successfully completed. The National Laboratory program provided more than HUF 1.2 billion for the project aimed at creating data-based knowledge bases.

The National Soil Database was created with the joint program of Nébih and MATE. With the help of the information available here, both farmers and public administration bodies can carry out their tasks related to soil protection and nutrient supply without additional financial or administrative burden. Thanks to the development, the soil test results have also become available geocoded and collected, thus facilitating the provision of data. The continuous expansion of the created database provides an opportunity to expand the soil information system, which plays a key role in official procedures, and to create detailed soil maps. In addition to all this, a nationwide soil spectral library was created as part of the project, and a soil property estimation service based on this database was also developed by Nébih and MATE.

The sample test was also developed

Thanks to the developments provided by the National Laboratory of Agricultural Technology, the energetic properties of solid biomass-based samples, including the elemental composition, ash content, heat of combustion, calorific value and moisture content, can be determined more accurately and quickly with the modernized analytical background. A mobile emission laboratory was also completed, which is specifically used for testing combustion equipment and provides on-site measurement options, and the testing options for plant protection machines were modernized. This further development includes, for example, the expansion of the test areas in the field, the investigation of spray drift, as well as the development of additional new methods.

During the project number 2022-2.1.1-NL-2022-00006, the Agrárközgazdasági Intézet Nonprofit Kft. assisted the work of Nébih and MATE. The National Laboratory program of the National Research and Innovation Office provided HUF 1,215,200,080 in support for the development, which was completed in mid-2024.
