The most comprehensive summer food safety check has been completed
The most comprehensive summer food safety inspection has been completed – the Ministry of Agriculture (AM) announced to MTI on Friday.
According to the announcement, the summer food safety seasonal inspections ordered by the State Secretary responsible for the food industry and trade policy, Márton Nobilis, in mid-June, took place without a break in the past two months. During this time, the target areas particularly linked to the season, as well as the most sought-after product ranges during the summer, were alternated.
Regarding the action, Márton Nobilis said that specialists visited more than 800 units and more than 200 product samples arrived at the laboratory of the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih), they wrote.
According to the ministry, the overall balance sheet can be said to be favorable, there were shortcomings, but serious irregularities were observed by the inspectors in few cases.
Márton Nobilis reminded in the announcement that this year, during the significantly expanded series of inspections, the authorities’ specialists carried out inspections on a wider scale than ever before. Thanks to the thematic schedule – in accordance with the preliminary plans – it was possible to provide continuous and detailed information to the population in all areas, as well as to correct the identified errors as soon as possible.
