Mátra wine region was swept away by the hailstorm
The damages caused by the hail on Saturday surpassed the preliminary estimates in the Mátra wine region. About three hundred million HUF damage is expected – the president of the Mátra Mountain Council told MTI.
Nyilas János said that about one quarter of the production area of 5000 hectares were affected by hail damage on 13 May.
According to the relatively accurate estimates, yield loss can be between 30 and 90 percent on 1000 and 1200 hectares, which is a loss of about 300-400 million HUF. (MTI)
