Organic wine region in Hungary
In a few years’ time – probably by 2026 – wine will only be made organically in the Nagy-Somló wine region. There will be a 4-year training period before the switch to growing grapes and producing wine organically. The training programme is going to be organised by the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (ÖMKi) and Biocont Kft. Global organic wine sales are expected to grow by 12-15 percent by 2022. //
