Unilever gathers speed
On 4 February, Unilever published its annual global results and the report on the last quarter of 2009. Last year the company’s turnover improved by 3.5 percent, equalling a 2.3-percent growth in terms of volume. Globally, the company spent 0.8 percent more on advertising and promotion. In the last quarter of 2009, Unilever increased sales by 1.8 percent; however, profits declined by 24 percent.
