Hungary’s M&A market is going strong
Hungary’s transaction market has remained active in spite of the geopolitical uncertainties, according to a recent EY Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) report.

Last year 111 deals were disclosed in Hungary, in the value of USD 6.4bn. The number of deals was down but their combined value grew by nearly 10% compared to the 137 announcements in 2022, which totalled USD 5.9bn in value. A total of 43 acquisitions were closed and reported in the first six months of 2024, including the largest and most complex deal in decades: buying back the airport. The share of transactions targeting our country rose to 41% last year, while the number of outbound investments was also on the rise and it had a 35% share from all deals in the first half of 2024. //
