Jam and syrup: premium quality deserves a special signal
The legislation of the jam and syrup product category has been finished. This is part of a two-tier regulation. The Ministry of Rural Development is transforming the Hungarian Food Codex standards system.
The special quality jams should be marketed in glass, pottery or porcelain packaging that are satisfactory for food safety packaging standards. The second level of jams should be glass packaged. The fruit content should be indicated on the package (for example, “100 g product made with the usage of 350 g plum”) – reports Világgazdaság Online.
