Shell Hungary zRt. announces that Andrea Istenesné Solti, the company’s Chairman of the Board, will leave the energy company on 30 September 2025, after more than 32 years of service.

Andrea Istenesné Solti joined the Shell Group in 1993 after graduating from Corvinus University of Budapest. She began her career in the Livewire Hungary program supporting the development of local communities, and then worked in numerous domestic and international management positions at the company during her decades-long career. She was appointed Chairman of the Board of Shell Hungary zRt. in 2020.

From the beginning of her career, she became an active shaper of the company’s values and vision. She played an important role in strengthening Shell’s position in Hungary and the region. Under his leadership, Shell’s global gas trading business in Hungary was strengthened, marked by long-term agreements, and Shell Hungary’s energy transition strategy was born, one of the most important milestones of which is the establishment of a national electric charging network in our country by 2025.

He played an important role in building Shell Hungary’s people-centric corporate culture and shaping the talent management strategy. His commitment to diversity and inclusion is also demonstrated by the support of local communities, mentoring programs and the introduction of comprehensive talent management systems. The ratio of women to men is balanced on the company’s board of directors and among senior managers. Under his leadership, Shell Hungary won several workplace awards – including the Family-Friendly Workplace, the Loved Workplace and the Fair Workplace titles. Its commitment to social issues is marked by the deepening of its cooperation with the Peter Cerny Foundation, the HBLF Romaster program, and – through its partnership with BOM – the support of para sports.

“In 2025, we will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Shell Hungary. It is a great pleasure to have been a part of and shaped this story. I would like to thank my colleagues for achieving important milestones in recent years, which will also lay the foundation for the next 100 years. If I were starting my career now, I would choose Shell and this career path again,”

– said Andrea Istenesné Solti, outgoing Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Shell.
