Be in Dobay in Buda – in the Horváth Garden!
The Budapest Party Service company group, which also includes the VakVarjú Restaurant family, opened its second pastry shop in Horváth-kert in the 1st district under the name Dobay Horváth-kert – Cukrászda és Pékség.
In one of the trendiest pastry shops in Buda, traditional and homemade flavors are combined with a touch of French elegance.
“The Horváth Garden is a real little jewel box for Krisztinaváros. The place was love at first sight, a cozy little oasis next to the busy Krisztina körút. I fell in love with its green trees and the statue of Déryné, which not only reminds me that this piece of land has important memories of theater and music history, but also that the theater was once connected to a garden restaurant. We would like to recall this old-time cordial and good-humored hospitality – about which a song was written in the 1940s called Let in the Horváth-kert in Buda – with our Dobay Horváth-kert Confectionery and Bakery, where we offer tasty delicacies at affordable prices.” Rudolf Semsei said at the opening. managing director of Budapest Party Service Kft.,
According to him, even before the opening of the VakVarjú restaurants, they wanted to open a Dobay Confectionery. Then life took them away from their dream, restaurants and Budapest Party Service Kft. became the focus of their thinking, but increasingly they felt it was very important to be able to make the cakes for the Kft.’s events in their own factory. Last summer, they set up a pastry and bakery workshop in Csepel, where they have been continuously developing Dobay cookies ever since, and they soon started looking for a home for their second pastry shop.
Eszter Dobay, the confectioner’s namesake, emphasized that they only use high-quality and natural ingredients for their confectionary and bakery products, and in the future they would like to continuously hold tastings with the participation of their guests, so that the people of Buda can conjure up the most delicious flavors in their products. Eszter also said that she feels a great responsibility for every slice of cake, since as the namesake of the pastry shop, the guests identify them with her.
“We want to make the Dobay Horváth Garden an intimate little meeting point for Buda, where you can have a chat in addition to delicious coffees, lattes, home-made cookies, cakes and baked goods made from wild sourdough, but of course you can also take away the always fresh baked goods and confectionery products. . Residents of District I receive a 10% discount with a District Card. Our daily lunch menu is new, after the warm soup we offer our guests a sandwich or cake,” said Rudolf Semsei.
At the opening, Márta V. Naszályi, the mayor of the first district of Budapest, noted with pleasure the expansion of the gastronomy scene in the district, and then József Tampu-Ababei, the parish priest of the Havas Bolgodasszony Plébány in Budapest-Kristinaváros, solemnly consecrated the patisserie.
