Chocolate Santa figures are the most popular – they make up for more than half of holiday season sales
Last year sweets retail sales surpassed the level of HUF 2 billion in the December holiday season, but sales of seasonal products were 11 percent lower than in the previous year – revealed the Nielsen Retail Index. Chocolate Santa figures were the most popular, their value share from sales was 56 percent. The volume weighted average price of seasonal Christmas sweets was HUF 3,193 per kilogram, 18 percent more than in December 2008.
