Sanitary pad sales developed most favourably
Annual sanitary pad sales approach HUF 6 billion per year. Retail sales increased by 4 percent in value and by 2 percent in volume in the first four months of 2013.
Manufacturer brands are still strong when it comes to feminine hygiene products: 83 percent of sanitary pads sold were manufacturer brands. Tampon sales amount to HUF 4 billon a year, with value and volume sales both falling in the examined period, by 6 and 4 percent, respectively. Manufacturer brands’ share was 87 percent. Pantyliner is bought for HUF 3 billion per annum and in the examined period there was no change in value sales, while volumes sales reduced by 1 percent. Manufacturer brands retained their 80-percent market share.
