This year’s maize yield has decreased by at least a quarter
This year’s maize yield decreased significantly, by 25-30 percent, compared to last year’s record, but quality is still good – the Concordia Közraktár Zrt. told MTI on Tuesday.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, this year, maize production was produced on 1.03 million hectares and the average yield was 6-6.5 tonnes per hectare, so this year it will be 6-6.5 million tonnes, compared to last year’s 8.7 million tonnes – Halmos Gábor, Chief Executive Officer of the Concordia Közraktár Zrt. told.
