Discount priced wine in the Tesco
Despite Tesco previously supported the government's fight against alcohol abuse, now the company sells bottled wines in its stores for only one pound.
The price of the Bulgarian Silver Rock Chardonnay bottle was originally 2.99 pounds (1,000 forints), but because it will soon be removed from the product list, it is sold out for 1.11 pounds (372 HUF).
In the UK, excessive alcohol consumption is a huge problem, especially among young people, so the government considers the fight against the phenomenon as an important task. In May, Tesco CEO Sir Terry Leahy said in public, that the Group supports this initative – reports penzcentrum.hu.
