The spread of African swine fever has slowed in Romania
The spread of African swine fever in Romania has slowed down, no new infectious points have emerged in the last month in neighboring counties – according to the weekly report of the Veterinary and Food Safety Authority was announced.
Over the past week, the number of settlements affected fell from 227 to 223. The African swine fever (ASP) is present in 13 out of 41 counties of Romania, mainly in the south-eastern part of the Danube mouth, and the number of infectious points approaches one thousand. The infection appeared in 15 pig farms, so far nearly 324,000 pigs have been killed and burned by the authorities, to prevent the spread of the infection. (MTI)
