The growth of e-commerce has slowed down – the right package partner can help online stores in a declining market
Web stores can perceive a significant change in market trends: the hyper-growth of online trade during the COVID period has stopped, and its share in total trade has also decreased. The new Digital Commerce Map reveals that e-retailers see the solution mostly in increasing the customer experience. This also includes attractive delivery options: in other words, a good parcel logistics partner can play a key role in the current situation. According to the specialists of Packeta, which cooperates with thousands of domestic online stores, the ideal partner can also help open and exploit export markets, which are now also an important way out.
The latest edition of the Digital Commerce Map has been published, which revealed that due to the reorganization after COVID and the decrease in purchasing power, the Hungarian e-commerce market slowed down in 2022, expanding by only 9.9%, while the share of online sales within commerce is again 10% fell under. This change, along with the continued high inflation and economic slowdown, presents new challenges for retailers.
A comprehensive industry survey conducted by GKID reveals that e-retailers see the opportunity for growth in the current situation mostly in increasing the customer experience – nearly two-thirds of the surveyed companies consider this to be important. In practice, all of this means, in addition to user-friendly shopping interfaces, attractive payment and delivery options – in other words, the right logistics partner can play a key role in the life of online stores. This is also important because speed of delivery is still one of the most important considerations for customers when ordering online.
