The rate of increase in consumer prices in the OECD countries slowed down in September
In the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) member states, the lowest inflation rate occured in September, since November 2016. It was 1.6 percent, after the 1.9 percent of August.
The slowdown in inflation was mainly caused by the fact that consumer price increases in Turkey declined to 9.3 percent from the 15 percent in August.
In the OECD countries, energy prices fell 2.6 percent year-on-year in September, after a 1.7 percent drop in August, while food price growth slowed to 1.5 percent after 1.9 percent in August. (MTI)
