Slowdown in food price increase
As expected, agricultural producer prices continued to increase in December, after the peak of October. According to datas from the Central Statistical Office (KSH) in December producer prices rose by 18.1 percent, compared to the same pariod of 2011, but compared to November a 0.4 percent decline occurred.
On an annual basis, vegetable products increased by 26.1 percent, the price of animal products increased by 4.5 percent. The year-end figures also show that last year, producer prices rose by 15.4 percent. In December, the producer price of potatoes increased by 54.7 percent, compared to the same period of a year earlier. (by our colleague)
