Slower growth in the EU and in the euro area
Compared to the flash estimate, the economies of the euro area and the European Union grew slower in the fourth quarter of last year – according to the second estimate of the EU’s statistical office (Eurostat). The second estimate was published on Tuesday.
According to the seasonally adjusted data, the gross domestic product (GDP) in the euro zone increased by 0.4 percent and in the European Union expanded by 0.5 percent in the last quarter of 2016, compared to the previous quarter. (MTI)
