Special features that you hardly knew about Hungary’s oldest champagne cellar
Founded by József Törley, the champagne factory with a history of more than 140 years has been considered a central player in the domestic market since its inception. It really is an almost unavoidable player, since Hungary has by far the largest contiguous vineyard area. Over the decades, he has achieved many extremely interesting records and is thus associated with the company, which proves what a decisive player he is in the market. The magnitude of this can be quite surprising even to some professionals experienced in the market. In Hungary, the company makes no less than 60 types of champagne, from completely dry to sweet, in a unique way using four types of technology. Among them are the champagnes made using the traditional method, which are aged in the cellars for at least 24-36 months. The special feature of the process is that in this case the champagne is brought to the consumer’s table in the same bottle in which it was fermented and then matured.
