Surtax and the economic crisis: Spar and Auchan did not have a good year
Partly due to the special tax, and partly because of the crisis, most commercial chains operating in Hungary suffered a loss in 2010.
The Annual Report of Spar Hungary Ltd. for example shows a minus 26 billion HUF, while Auchan had an 8.5 billion HUF loss. CBA, which paid a much lower rate of special tax closed the year with one billion HUF profit – reports mfor.hu.
