Standard Vodka exists Russia
The company will introduce the Russian Standard brand in countries such as Canada, and expects this to help boost sales by 30-50% this year. It plans to invest $100m this year in distribution and marketing.
Russian Standard Vodka, owned by
billionaire Roustam Tarika, has said it now plans to expand into new
international markets, as it seeks to revive sales. In a media
interview, Tarika said the move was prompted after the credit crunch
left some Russian retailers unable to pay their bills in 2008. He
noted that the defaults resulted in a sales growth of just 10% during
the year, compared with a growth of 40% on average in recent years.
Tariko added that the company is in talks to buy more vodka brands
from Russian producers.
