KSH: performance in the Hungarian beer industry fell last year
The performance of the beer industry fell by an unprecedented 13 percent last year, while that of the entire food industry fell by just 1 percent, according to an analysis released by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) on Monday.
The decrease was mainly explained by a decrease in turnover due to the absence of mass events and the shutdown of the hospitality industry.
According to the analysis, the beer industry is heavily dependent on domestic consumption, with 94 to 96 percent of its turnover coming from domestic sales over the past 10 years, while this proportion is only 59 to 69 percent for the food industry as a whole. (MTI)
