KSH: the number of cattle and swine increased further
The increase in cattle stocks continued, so by the end of 2014 their number exceeded 800 thousand. The number of pigs is over more than 3 million again – the Central Statistics Office (KSH) announced on Tuesday.
The number of cattle on 1 December 2014 was 802 thousand, 20 thousand more tahn in December 2013, and 13 thousand more than in June 2014. Over the past ten years, the growth has exceeded 100 thousand.
The number of pigs was 3 million 136 thousand on 1 December, 75 thousand more than in June 2014 and 131 thousand more than in December 2013. The number of pigs is again over 3 million for the first time since December 2013. The number of sows increased by 10 thousand to 200 thousand in a year. (MTI)
