KSH: last December, retail turnover decreased by 0.2 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, while it increased by 1.4 percent compared to the previous month
In December 2023, according to the raw data, the turnover volume of retail trade decreased by 1.0 percent, adjusted for calendar effects, compared to the same period of the previous year by 0.2 percent, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Tuesday.
In food and food-type mixed stores, the volume of sales adjusted for calendar effects increased by 1.3 percent, in fuel retail by 3.8 percent, and in non-food retail by 3.0 percent. According to data adjusted for seasonal and calendar effects, the volume of retail trade increased by 1.4 percent compared to the previous month. In 2023, the volume of traffic – also according to calendar-adjusted data – was 7.9 percent lower than the previous year.
According to the KSH report, in December compared to the same period of the previous year, the turnover volume in food and food-related mixed retail increased by 1.3 percent. Sales volume of food-type mixed stores accounting for 78 percent of food retail
