KSH: in September, consumer prices increased by 3.0 percent on average compared to the same month of the previous year
In September, consumer prices were on average 3.0 percent higher than a year earlier. In one month, they decreased by an average of 0.1 percent, within which vehicle fuels became cheaper by 3.7 percent, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Thursday.
Food prices increased by 3.7 percent in 12 months, including flour by 32.9, milk by 13.8, chocolate and cocoa by 10.1, fruit and vegetable juice by 8.5, restaurant meals by 7.6, school meals by 6.9 percent, cooking oil by 6.7 percent. Within the product group, the price of dry pasta decreased by 5.8 percent, that of sugar by 3.6 percent, that of eggs by 3.5 percent, that of poultry meat by 2.4 percent, and that of dairy products by 1.0 percent compared to last September.
According to the latest data from the KSH, services rose in price by 8.4 percent in one year, including rent by 10.7, highway tolls, car rental, parking by 10.6, common costs in condominiums by 10.5, personal care services by 10.0, vehicle repair and maintenance 9.9 percent, home repair and maintenance 8.6 percent, sports and museum tickets 8.1 percent, and holiday services 3.8 percent.
The price of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products rose by 3.9 percent, including spirits by 4.4 percent.
Household energy became cheaper by 5.0%, including piped gas by 9.4% and electricity by 1.3%.
Consumer durables had to pay 0.2 percent less, within which the price of used cars fell by 6.1 percent, jewelry by 10.7, new cars by 6.3, bedroom furniture by 2.5, kitchen and other furniture by 2 increased by 2 percent.
The report also touched on the fact that medicine and medicinal products are 6.0 percent more expensive, and vehicle fuels are 9.5 percent cheaper.
