KSH: the turnover of retail stores increased by 3.0 percent in September
In September, according to raw and calendar-adjusted data, the turnover of retail stores was 3.0 percent higher than a year earlier, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) announced on Tuesday.

In the food and grocery stores, the turnover calculated at constant prices decreased for the fourth month, by 2.8 percent in September. The sales volume of mixed food stores, which account for 75 percent of food retail, decreased by 3.3 percent, and that of food, beverage, and tobacco specialty stores by 1.1 percent.
The turnover volume of non-food retail increased by 2.7 percent overall. The volume of sales in second-hand goods stores is 21.2, in textile, clothing and footwear stores 14.7, in mixed stores of industrial goods 8.4, in book, computer technology and other industrial goods stores 3.4, in furniture and technical goods -stores increased by 1.0 percent. Turnover in pharmaceutical, medical product, and perfume stores decreased by 1.0 percent due to a 5.9 percent decline in the turnover of perfume shops.
The volume of mail order and internet retailing, covering a wide range of goods and accounting for 7.8 percent of the retail turnover, decreased by 2.4 percent. The volume of traffic at fuel filling stations was 18.6 percent higher.
In fuel retail, the volume of sales adjusted for the calendar effect increased by 18.6 percent, which is almost the same as the 18.5 percent in August.
