The consumer spending of households grew by 5.1 percent in real terms last year
The average monthly consumption per capita of the Hungarian population was 82,900 HUF in 2017. It is 7.6 higher at an average price and by 5.1 percent higher in real terms than in the year before – according to the preliminary data of the Central Statistical Office’s (KSH) published in its Statistical Mirror publication.
Expenditure growth was boosted by an average 12.9 percent rise in earnings.
In 2017, the population increased their consumption in real terms in all consumer groups. The highest amount of hospitality and accommodation services increased by 9.7 percent, followed by home furnishing and household expenses (by 9.3 percent). (MTI)
