KSH: retail turnover in October exceeded the same period of the previous year by 3.1 percent and the previous month by 0.5 percent
2025. In October, the volume of retail trade turnover exceeded the same period of the previous year by 3.1 percent, both according to raw and calendar-adjusted data, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Thursday.
Sales in food and food-related mixed stores increased by 1.2 percent, in non-food retail by 5.2 percent, and in fuel retail by 0.6 percent, adjusted for calendar effects adjusted volume compared to the same period of the previous year.
According to seasonally and calendar-adjusted data, the volume of retail trade exceeded the previous month by 0.5 percent.
In January-October, the volume of trade – also adjusted for calendar effects – exceeded the same period of the previous year by 2.9 percent.
The Central Statistical Office detailed: the sales volume of food-type mixed stores, which account for 77 percent of food retail trade, increased by 2.9 percent, while that of food, beverage and tobacco specialty stores decreased by 4.3 percent.
The volume of non-food retail trade turnover increased by 5.2 percent overall. The volume of sales in textile, clothing and footwear stores increased by 8.6 percent, in general stores of industrial goods by 6.0 percent, in pharmaceutical, medical product and perfume stores by 4.4 percent, and in furniture and technical goods stores by 0.6 percent. At the same time, the volume of turnover in book, computer and other industrial goods stores decreased by 0.3 percent, and in second-hand goods stores by 2.0 percent.
The volume of mail-order and online retail, which covers a wide range of goods and accounts for 8.9 percent of retail turnover, increased by 11 percent.
The volume of motor vehicle and motor vehicle spare parts stores not included in retail data increased by 3.1 percent

49 percent of the national retail turnover was realized in food and food-related mixed stores, 37 percent in non-food retail, and 15 percent in fuel station turnover.
In January-October, the volume of retail turnover, adjusted for calendar effects, increased by 2.9 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. Sales volume increased by 2.6 percent in food and food-related retail trade, 4.3 percent in non-food retail trade, and 0.7 percent in fuel retail trade, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) announced.
