KSH: in November, consumer prices exceeded the values of the same month of the previous year by an average of 3.8 percent
In November 2025, consumer prices were 3.8 percent higher on average than a year earlier. Compared to October, prices were 0.1 percent higher on average, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Tuesday.
Food prices increased by 3.2 percent in a year (0.6 percent excluding catering services), including 15.9 percent for confectionery, 14.9 percent for coffee, 11.3 percent for buffet products, 11.2 percent for eggs, 10.7 percent for chocolate and cocoa, 10.1 percent for cooking oil, 7.5 percent for school meals, 6.7 percent for pastries, and 4.9 percent for non-alcoholic soft drinks. Within the product group, the price of margarine decreased by 28.3, flour by 15.3, dairy products by 11.4, milk by 8.1, pork by 7.8, sausages by 7.0, and sugar by 4.7 percent, the Central Statistical Office reported.
On average, household energy costs increased by 9.8 percent, with piped gas and electricity rising by 22.0 percent and 2.1 percent, respectively.
The price of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products increased by 7.5 percent, with tobacco products rising by 9.0 percent.
Services increased by 6.5 percent, including holiday services by 12.2, vehicle repair and maintenance by 10.0, personal care services by 9.3, home repair and maintenance by 9.2, health services by 8.6, rent by 8.0, sports and museum tickets by 7.9 percent.
The price of durable consumer goods increased by 2.9 percent, including jewelry by 21.5, room furniture by 5.9, heating and cooking equipment by 3.0, and new passenger cars by 1.7 percent.
The price of vehicle fuels decreased by 5.0 percent, and the price of medicines and medical supplies increased by 5.1 percent.
Compared to October, consumer prices increased by an average of 0.1 percent in one month. The price of food increased by 0.2 percent (excluding catering services, it did not change on average). Eggs cost 3.6, cooking oil 2.7, buffet items 1.1, confectionery and flour products and bread 1.0-1.0, milk and sugar 0.6-0.6 percent more. Within the product group, the price of fruit and vegetable juice decreased by 3.2 percent, chocolate and cocoa by 3.1 percent, butter and butter cream by 2.1 percent, and cheese by 1.2 percent.
Clothing items became more expensive by 0.7 percent. The price of household energy decreased by 0.4 percent, including 0.4-0.4 percent less for both mains gas and bottled gas. The price of services decreased by an average of 0.1 percent, within which the price of holiday services decreased by 1.1 percent.
The price of vehicle fuels decreased by 0.6 percent, and that of medicines and medical supplies by 0.1 percent in one month in November – announced the Central Statistical Office.
