KSH: growing cattle, decreasing pig population
In the past six months, the number of cattle and sheep increased, while the number of pigs decreased – announced the Central Statistical Office (KSH) on Tuesday.
The number of pigs decreased to 2.913 million for the middle of this year, which has not seen for ten years. Over the past six months, pig population decreased by 112 thousand (3.7 percent), compared to 2011 decline was 229 thousand (7.3 percent).
The number of cattle since the census of last December increased by 39 thousand to 733 thousand. Compared to a year ago, increase was 41 thousand. The cow population increased by 8 thousand to 335 thousand in a year. (MTI)
